Brilliant. Thanks
Once again, superb remastering job on Miles’s ‘75 band! If you don’t mind sharing, what’s your remastering process?
First of all, I want to say that I do this for fun, for myself and my friends, and for enjoyment. I’m trying to bring some atmosphere to these old recordings, the kind that these great works deserve. I'm experimenting with how far I can go given the current technical and software capabilities. At the start, it's important to have a clear vision of how the recording should sound, what kind of sound and atmosphere it should have... I did some of the remasters a long time ago, and I'm not very satisfied with many of them. I might delete them from YT over time and replace them with new ones.
The process is standard: first, I convert the source files to 24-bit (if I don't already have a 24-bit source) and then..
@@MaanoArt_Remasters thanks for the reply. Inspired by you, I decided to experiment over the weekend with remastering the 2013 Blu-Spec CD2 version (with the chaotic original mix). So far, an improvement. Sounds closer now to my original vinyl copy in terms of richness and dynamic range.
One thing I know for sure: Miles never ever played a thing called electric trumpet.
Well, they called it electric trumpet since he ran it thru a wah wah pedal like a guitar during that era.
